I imagine heaven will feel something like it.
The way it was that morning in your yard.
In front of your house.
The natural world was our dining room.
Strangers and acquantances.
Comfortable and easy.
There were no judegments.
No slinging of arrows.
No sideways glances.
No fakery.
Just human beings being true to their spirits.
The sunshine felt like new air.
Making me feel at home and warm.
You smiled.
Not big.
Slow and sure of just who you were.
Your generosity was palpable, and extended without restraint to everyone.
Looking at your picture today, reminded me how much work I have to do until I get to where you were.
I'm so glad you touched his life.
And by circumstance one late summer morning in an overgrown front yard, mine also.
