Oh Halloween where have you gone?

I LOVE Halloween. That being said, every year without fail...I look forward to it with excited anticipation hoping it will be everything I'd hoped...and every year without fail it's...pretty lame. Yeah parties are cool and whatever but where is the nostalgia factor? It seems like kids only trick or treat at the mall. And what is the deal with little girls in provocative costumes???!! Come on parents, get it together. Childhood is short as it is, let them be kids while they can.
What is to become of my favorite American tradition? Next year I hope to be making popcorn and watching scary movies on my couch, answering the front door, dealing out fun size candy bars, and complimenting children on their homemade costumes.
I really hope its only my imagination and Halloween isn't fading in to obscurity. I haven't even had kids yet! Slow down world I'm trying to keep up.
